In the months since returning from our summer bicycling trip, I’ve been busy developing a piece of software that I’ve wanted to write for years. The software is intended to solve an age-old problem: putting data online with ease.
This software will live on a web server and is being written in PHP/MySQL for easy installation and portability. Once installed, a user can set up and design a project, choosing tables and fields, setting up security, adding users, and setting up any templates.
Those who worked with me years ago at the now-defunct Westside Corporation might think that this sounds familiar — it has similar goals of that product, but different means of getting there.
I’ll be talking more in the coming weeks as development continues on this currently unnamed project.
